About
Background
I have developed this work to help councils strengthen the connection between strategy, delivery and reporting through practical, structured support aligned to capacity.
This work sits within my broader practice, DETOUR and draws on experience across project delivery, strategic planning, systems development and placemaking. Experience across local government, education, business and community contexts has shaped a strong understanding of how governance, competing priorities and organisational capacity influence delivery in practice.
My focus is on helping organisations and teams translate strategic intent into clear, actionable pathways, aligning planning, delivery and reporting so councils can move from long-term direction to practical implementation with confidence.
Approach
My approach is practical, proportionate and aligned to organisational capacity. It focuses on clarity, alignment and implementation, strengthening what already exists rather than adding unnecessary complexity.
Planning, delivery and reporting are treated as one connected system, with support shaped to fit context, scale and real-world decision-making.
Everything is designed for practical use, with a focus on plain English, credible structure and workable implementation.
Where needed, I draw on a small network of trusted specialists to complement the work while maintaining a clear, single point of contact.
